What’s Your 2020 Water-Bucket List?

As we move into a new year, it seems 2020 is bright with anticipation.  This is the year of great progress, advances in technology, society and engagement.  The challenges and uncertainty of 2019 will likely remain, but with the coming of a new year, there is a sense that even the most daunting challenges can be overcome if we come together and inspire change.

The water field feels this too.  Even Pantone, the organization that assigns the “color of the year”, gave 2020 “Classic Blue”, which somehow seems to signify the hope we have for the year ahead and all we can accomplish to improve our water resources at home.

We are on the precipice of exciting things this year.  And just like you will likely set your 2020 goals for your health, wealth and career, make this the year you also set your water resolutions….a 2020 “Water-Bucket List” if you will.  (Yes, the cheesier name the better around here!)

So here’s your challenge… what’s your Water Bucket List? Name two activities you will do for water this year.

First, what is activity that will bring you closer to water?  Is it hiking to a lake you’ve never been to?  Taking 20 minutes each week to walk along a shore or riverbank and just enjoy the view? Go skiing on a crisp, cool mountain? It can be something you have done before, or something that will be completely new.  The only rule is it must be time which you simply enjoy and consider what water in that moment brings to your life.

Second, what activity will you do in 2020 to advocate for water?  It can be volunteering for a local organization, joining a political campaign or attending a local council meeting discussing a current water topic.  Make it simple, make it important to you, make it something you can share with others.

Ok, have your Water Bucket List? Now, prove it! Leave a comment below or post on social media #My2020WaterBucketList.

It takes many small currents to create a wave of change.
